Service Description

This is a class for those who are already started in pistols and have their basic safety and handgun operation established, but are looking to move on from basic target practice. This will be a full day event, from 10am to 4pm. The goal of this class is to give students a jumping off point for future classes and shooting activities, and entry level competition. In addition to reviewing safety, and basic pistol fundamentals, students will learn: Safely Working From A Holster Malfunction Clearances  Basic Magazine Changes Common Defensive Drills Transition Shooting One Handed Shooting  Shooting On The Move Required Gear: Students will need a modern working semi-automatic pistol in good working order, three magazines, magazine pouches, OWB (out of the waistband) holster, belt, 250-300 rounds of ammunition, range bag. Please be sure to wear pants with belt loops to accommodate your holster.  Recommended: Ball cap, sunblock, mosquito repellant, towel. Since this is an all day event, you will need to bring plenty of water, snacks and your lunch. You are welcome to bring coolers, chairs and umbrellas if you wish. This class is to be held out at Volusia County Gun Club: 4845 E. SR 44, New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 Please note: Safety is always thoroughly reviewed to give each student direction on the safety expectations prior to and throughout the duration of the course. Due to the nature of firearms training especially on a hot firing line, it is absolutely imperative that all students be able to function safely with their firearm. Anyone who is deemed unsafe will be removed from the class and a refund may NOT be issued.
